Ayushmann Khurrana stars as Vampire in Thama

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is gearing up for his upcoming film Thama with Rashmika Mandanna. The actor has recently created a buzz among his fans with the announcement of the film’s release date.

In a recent interview with Variety, Ayushmann talked about Thama and dubbed the film as the "biggest release" of his career. He also revealed that Thama will hit the theatres this year on Diwali.

While talking about the release of the film, Ayushmann admitted that it "feels amazing" to have the film release on Diwali.

He said, “For me, Diwali is about togetherness, it is about family and it is about having the best community experience by spending time with your friends. I’m a big movie buff and every year, I have a ritual to go to the theatres with my family and watch a film on Diwali!”

The actor added, “We have so much fun together and it makes me so happy to see scores of people thronging to the theatres to watch these big releases.”

Ayushmann further noted, “So, it feels amazing to have a big Diwali release with Thama. It is the biggest release of my career and I’m really eager to spread joy, happiness and laughter with the entire country with Thama. The fact that my film could be one of the reasons for people to have a great festive period feels really surreal.”

The upcoming film also features Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role. Munjya famed filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar has helmed the project. Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and Amar Kaushik, Thama is the latest addition to Maddock’s horror franchise, which also includes films such as Stree, Bhediya and Munjya.

The upcoming film follows a determined historian who sifts through old manuscripts, seeking clues about the mysterious legends of vampires in Vijay Nagar.
