Disney’s highly anticipated film Avatar: Fire and Ash, set for release on December 19, 2025, has become the latest victim of piracy after its trailer was leaked online—a full week before its scheduled debut.
Although there has been no official confirmation, the leak seems to support the rumours that the trailer would be released along with The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Since it provides the first look at the "Ash People," a recently revealed Na'vi clan that will play a major role in the movie's plot, the leaked footage has already created a lot of buzz.
The third film in James Cameron's ongoing Avatar series, Fire and Ash, introduces the fiery new Na'vi culture in an effort to further develop the rich world of Pandora.
Directed by Cameron himself, the film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, and Edie Falco, among others.
Speaking about the film, Cameron previously revealed that this sequel would explore “different cultures from those I have already shown. The fire will be represented by the ‘Ash People.’ I want to show the Na’vi from another angle because, so far, I have only shown their good sides.”
The leak highlights the ongoing problem of piracy in the entertainment sector, particularly in the run-up to big releases.
Thirteen years after the first Avatar enthralled audiences around the world, the second installment, Avatar: The Way of Water, debuted in theatres in 2022.
