Actress Anu Aggarwal supported veteran actor Paresh Rawal's admission that he drank his own urine to heal from a severe knee ailment.
Paresh Rawal revealed the unusual treatment in an interview with The Lallantop, remembering how he took action director Veeru Devgan's advice while recovering from an injury on the sets of Ghatak.
Anu supported Paresh Rawal and told Instant Bollywood in an interaction, “Many people don’t know this… whether it’s ignorance or just a lack of awareness, but drinking urine, which is referred to as Aamroli, is actually a mudra (gesture/practice) in Hatha Yoga. I’ve practiced it myself. All of us have tried it, and it’s a very important practice. But one crucial thing to remember is that you don’t drink the entire urine stream. Only a specific part of it is consumed, the midstream portion which is considered amrit (nectar). It’s known to help with anti-aging, keeping your skin wrinkle-free… it’s truly amazing not just for health, but overall well-being. I’ve personally experienced its benefits."
When asked about the lack of scientific backing for such activities, she said, “How old is science? Around 200 years. But Yoga? It’s been around for over 10,000 years. So whose wisdom will you trust? I support Yoga. I live Yoga."
Paresh Rawal had spoken about his injury in the interview and revealed that he got hurt while filming Ghatak in a scene with actor Rakesh Pandey.
Danny Denzongpa and Tinnu Anand rushed him to Nanavati hospital then.
Veeru Devgan encouraged him to begin drinking his own pee every morning out of concern for long-term harm. "“All fighters do this. You will never face any problem," Devgan had assured him.
Rawal continued: "“I will sip it like a beer because if I have to follow through, I will do so properly." He claimed that after following the practice for 15 days, his recovery time was significantly shortened, surprising even his doctors.
Paresh Rawal will be seen in Hera Pheri 3 with Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty soon.
