Actress Anjana Sukhani has made shocking revelations about her experience on the sets of Nikkhil Advani’s 2007 film Salaam-E-Ishq, where she was blindsided by an unexpected kissing scene with Anil Kapoor. In a recent interview, Anjana called the director "mean" and "harsh", accusing him of not informing her in advance about the scene.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Anjana recounted how she only learned about the scene moments before stepping onto the nightclub-style set, leaving her feeling cornered and powerless. She claimed that as a newcomer, there was an unspoken assumption that she wouldn’t refuse, and she felt pressured to comply.

"I was not told about the kiss right till the end, until we were walking on set to do the scene. This wouldn’t happen with a star kid, right?" she questioned, highlighting the double standards in the industry.

Anjana revealed that she didn’t feel in a position to object, admitting that she was nervous, overwhelmed, and had no one to turn to for advice. She stated that she reluctantly went through with it, but the experience left her deeply shaken.

Anjana stressed that intimate scenes should always be communicated to actors beforehand, allowing them to mentally prepare.

"I understand that if a script demands a kiss, actors need to be open to it. But at least inform me. Mentally, I need to be prepared. At the end of the day, this is still some kind of intimacy," she explained.

She added, "Even if I was told half an hour or one hour before, I could have prepared myself. But being told at the last moment, it was like… okay, I don’t know how to handle this. I didn’t have any friends on set. I just wanted to cry."

When asked why she didn’t refuse, Anjana admitted that she feared being removed from the film. "What if I was asked to leave the film? What if the director had said, ‘This scene is important, and if you don’t do it, then leave’? Then what do I do?" she questioned, adding that the film industry tends to take advantage of outsiders while treating star kids differently.

Anjana never confronted Nikkhil Advani about the incident but admitted that she still carries bitterness over it. "You could get away with it because I had no backing," she stated. "But don’t presume I would be okay with it. Even if I am, give me time to process it. That was not given, and I feel that’s unfair."
