Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, continues her legal quest to remove "Pitt" from her last name. Nearly two months after filing the initial petition, Shiloh has taken another step forward in the California legal process. She recently announced the petition in the Los Angeles Times, a required step before a judge can officially grant her request to be known legally as Shiloh Jolie.

In California, anyone seeking a legal name change must have their petition published in a newspaper for a full month before a judge can finalize the process.

According to sources close to Pitt, cited by the Times of India, the actor is aware and reportedly upset by this decision. These sources claim it reinforces a sense of loss regarding his children, whom he deeply cares for and misses.

The legal action coincides with Shiloh turning 18 on May 27th. Jolie and Pitt, parents to six children, have had a strained relationship since their divorce.
