Amaal Mallik's mother, Jyothi Malik has finally reacted after the musician recently shared a deeply emotional social media post on Thurday, shedding light on his ongoing struggle with clinical depression and the emotional challenges he has faced within his family.

In his candid revelation, the composer spoke about years of feeling undervalued, despite his unwavering dedication to his music.

Responding to Amaal's post, his mother, Jyothi Malik, addressed the matter briefly in a conversation with Hindustan Times. She stated, “I don’t think you (the media) need to be involved in all this. Whatever he has posted is his choice. I am sorry. Thank you,” expressing her discomfort with the media's involvement in such a personal matter.

In a now deleted post, he expressed his frustration on social media stating that, despite putting his heart and soul into his work, he has long felt unappreciated and emotionally drained.

Amaal also addressed the strained relationships within his family, claiming that his parents, Daboo Malik and Jyothi Malik, had created obstacles in both his personal and professional life. These difficulties have reportedly affected his relationship with his brother, singer Armaan Malik, and have led him to reconsider his family dynamics.

He mentioned, “I’ve reached a point where I can no longer keep silent about the pain I’ve endured. I have spent my blood, sweat, and tears to create each of the 126 melodies that have been released over the last decade,” he said. He further opened up about his mental health struggles, stating that his family’s actions had severely impacted his sense of self-worth. “What really matters is that I am clinically depressed because of these happenings,” he confessed.
