Amaal Mallik says his bond with brother Armaan Malik won't change

Popular singer and music composer Amaal Mallik recently stirred up attention after sharing a heartfelt post on his social media, announcing that he has cut ties with his family. However, Mallik later made another post clarifying that his relationship with his brother, Armaan Malik, remained unchanged.

On March 20, Amaal Malik took to his Instagram stories, expressing gratitude for the love and support he had received.

He shared a long note, saying, "Thank you for the love and support, it truly means a lot, but I would request the media portals to not harass my family... Please don't sensationalise & give negative headlines to my vulnerability... It's a request."

He further explained that it had taken considerable courage for him to open up about the situation, acknowledging the emotional difficulty of the moment. Amaal emphasised that, despite the challenges, his love for his family would remain, though he would keep a distance for the time being.

He reassured his followers, stating, "Nothing changes between us brothers, Armaan and I are one and nothing can come between us. Love & Peace."

In an earlier post, which has since been deleted, Amaal Malik shared additional thoughts on his ongoing struggles, writing, "Through the last many years, they have left no opportunity to disturb my well-being & belittle all my friendships, my relationships, my mindset, my self-confidence. But I just kept marching on because I know I can and I believe I’m unshakable."

He also mentioned, "I made every dream on earth within an arm’s reach for them, so that they can stand tall in front of the world and keep their head held high. I along with my brother’s vocal prowess have changed the narrative of being called XYZ’s nephew or son to whoever we are today! The journey has been terrific for the both of us but the actions of my parents have been the reason we as brothers have gone too far from one another and all of this has made me step in for myself as it has left a very deep scar left across my heart."

He concluded by saying he would only engage with his family on a "strictly professional" basis moving forward.

Meanwhile, Amaal's mother, Jyothi Malik, chose not to comment on her son's statements, telling Hindustan Times, "I don’t think you (media) need to be involved in all this. Whatever he has put is his choice. I am sorry. Thank you."
