Akhil Akkineni, the youngest star from the legendary Akkineni family, celebrates his birthday on April 8. Being the grandson of Akkineni Nageswara Rao and son of Nagarjuna and Amala, Akhil entered the film industry with high expectations.

Early Start in Cinema

Akhil began his journey as a child artist appearing at just one year old in Sisindri (1994) produced by his father Nagarjuna. His performance earned him the Best Child Artist award making his debut memorable.

Personal Life and Engagement

Born on April 8, 1994, Akhil is the younger brother of actor Naga Chaitanya. In 2016, he got engaged to Shriya Bhupal, granddaughter of GVK’s founder. However, the wedding was later called off due to undisclosed reasons. Again he got engaged to artist Zainab Ravdjee on November 26, 2024 and their wedding is scheduled for March 24, 2025 at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.

Journey as a Lead Actor

Akhil officially debuted as a hero in 2015 with Akhil directed by V.V. Vinayak. While the film didn’t do well at the box office, his performance was appreciated. He followed it up with films like Hello (2017), Mr. Majnu (2019), and Most Eligible Bachelor (2021). The last one was a decent hit, and his chemistry with co-star Pooja Hegde received praise.

In 2023, Akhil surprised fans with a rugged look in Agent directed by Surender Reddy. Though the film created buzz, it failed to perform at the box office. Still Akhil showed his commitment to reinventing himself.

Upcoming Film with Murali Kishore Abburu

Akhil is now gearing up for a new film directed by Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha fame Murali Kishore Abburu. This project is being jointly produced by Annapurna Studios and Sithara Entertainments. The movie stars Sreeleela opposite Akhil and has music by Thaman. A fierce poster with the tagline “There is no war more violent than love” was recently released, creating excitement. A special glimpse video will be launched on April 8.
