Superstar Ajith Kumar, who just released the action-comedy Good Bad Ugly (GBU), is in the news again, this time because of a reported pay increase.
Ajith Kumar's upcoming project, tentatively titled AK64, is expected to increase his salary from Rs 150 crore to Rs 175 crore, according to industry rumors. According to reports, Ajith feels that "even films with simple stories should be presented lavishly," even though his team has not officially confirmed this. According to a report published in Pinkvilla, this is his latest remuneration and makers are ready to pay as well.
The overall budget of the movie is expected to be between Rs 300 and 400 crore with this pay increase, paving the way for yet another intense production.
Adhik Ravichandran's reunionAjith is reportedly working with director Adhik Ravichandran again on AK64 following the huge success of GBU. According to a report, the project will begin during the racing off-season, giving the actor—who is an avid racer—time to focus entirely on the movie. In contrast to GBU, which was created primarily for Ajith's enormous fan base, AK64 is anticipated to be made with a broader audience appeal in mind.

Starring Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, and Arav, the film told the compelling tale of a husband who is running out of time to save his wife who has been abducted.
