Aditi Rao Hydari has found herself at the centre of a social media storm after an old video clip from a 2013 promotional interview resurfaced online. The clip, which was recorded during promotions of Murder 3, features Aditi making a controversial remark that many have interpreted as a direct jab at Mallika Sherawat, who starred in the original Murder film.
In the interview, Aditi says, “I truly believe that there’s far more to just sexuality. And I think you need to have steel in your soul and not silicon in your chest to be somebody of substance.”
When her co-star Randeep Hooda reacts in surprise, she further clarifies, “Steel in your soul and not silicon in your b**bs... I truly believe that because I think to stand on your own and to choose a path and to believe in that path, you need to have far more than just one aspect.”

One Reddit user commented, “All she does in the name of acting is widen her eyes and have deer caught in headlights expression in every scene. She lies about her age, had so many plastic surgeries but being the ultimate pick me she shames other women for the same thing."
Another added, “Madam has rearranged her whole face. And Mallika Sherawat is fabulous - great comic timing. Unlike Miss Surgery Hepburn who has only one expression.”

Critics have also pointed out the irony of the statement being presented with pride in an interview that is now being used against her. “She really thought she gave a smart answer lol. look how proud she is of herself. But no one remembers this Murder - murder 2 was it? And Mallika in the original will always be iconic,” read one of the comments.
