Aamir Khan is steadily gearing up for his much-anticipated return to the silver screen with Sitaare Zameen Par—a film already stirring interest as the “thematic sequel” to the widely loved 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par.
Adding to the excitement, fresh reports have now revealed that Aamir recently shot an uplifting, “feel-good” song sequence for the upcoming film, alongside actress Genelia Deshmukh.
As reported by Mid-Day, the energetic track was filmed over a five-day shoot in Marol, Mumbai. The sequence was helmed by director R.S. Prasanna and choreographed by the talented Vijay Ganguly.
While it remains unconfirmed whether the number will appear within the film’s main plot, a source close to the production hinted that it might serve as a special montage, possibly included during the end credits, offering a thematic reflection of the film’s emotional core.
“It’s a feel-good track. It’s unclear whether it will be part of the narrative. Most likely, it will be a special number attached to the credits,” shared the insider.
The same report confirmed that the post-production phase is almost complete, with promotional campaigns scheduled to kick off in early May. Aamir, known for his deep involvement in all aspects of his projects, is reportedly very passionate about the subject and is eager to begin spreading awareness about the film’s message and impact.
Speaking to Deadline Hollywood previously, Aamir described Sitaare Zameen Par as a spiritual follow-up to Taare Zameen Par. Although it features a brand-new storyline and characters, the film seeks to explore similar emotional depths—this time through a blend of humour and heart-warming moments.
Genelia Deshmukh, who was confirmed as the film’s lead actress in 2023, has reportedly been hand-picked by Aamir himself. “Aamir believes that Genelia fits the part of a strong, independent woman like a hand in a glove,” a source told Pinkvilla, adding that her casting followed extensive deliberation with the director.
Interestingly, Darsheel Safary—who portrayed Ishaan in Taare Zameen Par—also stars in the film, although his role is being kept tightly under wraps. Directed by R.S. Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par promises a moving mix of comedy and drama that aims to strike an emotional chord once more. While the official release date remains unannounced, the wait may soon be over as promotions are set to begin shortly.
