Mammootty, a prominent Malayalam actor, has finally broken his silence on the Justice Hema Committee report and the #MeToo movement. In a Facebook post, he echoed the sentiments of Mohanlal and others, welcoming the report and dismissing the notion of a powerful group within the Malayalam film industry.

Mammootty explained his delayed response by stating that he preferred to wait for an official statement from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) before commenting. As a responsible member of the organization, he believed it was appropriate to defer his opinion until the official stance was released.

The actor posted a long explanation on Facebook and clarified that, “There is no power group in cinema."

He further stated, "I fully support the recommendations and solutions outlined in the report. This is the moment for everyone in the film industry to unite, without divisions, to implement these recommendations."

Mammootty emphasized that the film industry is not immune to the vices present in society. He acknowledged that even minor issues within the industry can have a substantial impact due to its constant public scrutiny.

He further noted that the government formed the Justice Hema Committee to investigate and address specific incidents that should not have taken place. The committee's purpose was to provide a report with recommendations and solutions to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Mammootty also addressed the ongoing police investigation into the recent complaints in the post. "Let the police carry out their investigation impartially, and let the courts determine the appropriate penalties. There are no 'power groups' in cinema, nor should such entities exist within the industry. It is requested to implement the practical recommendations in the Justice Hema Committee report and if there are legal obstacles, the necessary legislation should be carried out. Ultimately the movie must survive," he wrote.

Recently Malayalam actor Mohanlal has also denied being part of any power group within the Malayalam film industry. He also stated that he is unaware of the power group mentioned in the Hema Committee report. He expressed his disappointment over the negative portrayal of the Malayalam industry due to recent events.
