During the recent music launch of his upcoming film 'I Want to Talk', Abhishek Bachchan shared his thoughts on the transformative experience of portraying a character with a drastically different physical appearance. Referring to a movie poster showing him with a noticeable belly, he joked, “I’m not in this shape anymore. But it has been a valuable learning experience—life-changing, in fact. I truly hope we’ve managed to make an impact during the two or three hours you spend watching the film in the cinema.”
The versatile actor openly discussed the challenges of gaining weight for a film role, humorously advising, “Don’t ever put on weight for a film again. Trust me, at my age, it becomes really hard to shed it after a while.” Despite the difficulty, Abhishek highlighted the significance of embracing new experiences and stepping out of his comfort zone, particularly in his collaboration with director Shoojit Sircar. He expressed how these kinds of roles and creative partnerships are invaluable learning experiences in his career.
“What I’d like to thank Shoojit Da for is, and I hope you all can find some sort of parallel in your own life, you know, we’re all stuck in the rut of life," the actor continued. "We’re doing what we’re doing, we’re enjoying it. Some of us have got a corporate job, some of us are artists, some of us do whatever we do. Life dictates to you what you should be doing and how you should be doing it.”
Reflecting on the creative process, the actor shared his appreciation for the chance to step outside his usual routine. “What’s great about working with Shoojit Da and taking on a project like this is that sometimes you can just have a conversation and say, ‘Hey, maybe I should try something different.’ And when that approach clicks, there’s no greater feeling of reward,” he said, expressing how fulfilling it is to explore new opportunities and push boundaries in his work.
'I Want to Talk' is directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sircar under the banner of Rising Sun Films. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role, with Johnny Lever playing a pivotal part. Scheduled for release in cinemas on November 22, 2024, the movie promises to offer an engaging cinematic experience.
