With the completion of the fourth phase of elections witnessing a robust 78.37 per cent voter turnout, West Bengal gears up for the fifth phase scheduled for May 20. This phase will see seven out of the 42 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state going to polls including Howrah.

Howrah, nestled alongside the bustling city of Kolkata, stands as a crucial urban center in West Bengal. Despite being the third smallest district after Kolkata and Kalimpong, Howrah's strategic position along the Hooghly River elevates its importance. Renowned for landmarks such as the iconic Howrah Bridge, the Indian Botanic Garden, and the tranquil Santragachhi Lake, Howrah seamlessly blends industrial activity with a rich cultural heritage.
