Isha Khan Choudhury from INC has whizzed past his nearest rival Sreerupa Chaudhury and is on course to win the Maldaha Dakshin seat in West Bengal. He is leading with a commanding margin of 126306 votes at 5:35 PM, according to the Election Commission data.

Trends at 2:30 PM:  Isha Khan Choudhury from INC is currently in the lead with 395836 votes. Sreerupa Chaudhury from BJP is in the second place, having secured 202684 votes.

All India Trinamool Congress' Shahnawaz Ali Raihan has so far secured 159530 votes.

Trends at 1:30 PM: Isha Khan Choudhury from INC is currently in the lead with 321223 votes. Sreerupa Chaudhury from BJP is in the second place, having secured 290963 votes.

About Maldaha Dakshin

In 2019, Congress won Maldaha Dakshin seat with Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury who defeated BJP’s Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury and TMC’s Shahnawaz Ali Rahman.

Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury of the INC was the winning candidate from the Maldaha Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency, in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, securing 444270 votes while 436048 votes were polled in favour of Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury of the BJP. Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury lost by 8222 votes.

In 2014, Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury of the INC was the winning candidate from the Maldaha Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency, securing 380291 votes while 216180 votes were cast in favour of Bisnu Pada Roy of the BJP.

Maldaha Dakshin parliamentary constituency had a total of 1347143 registered electors in 2014.
