Chhattisgarh Exit Poll 2024 Updates: NDA may win 9-11 seats in Chhattisgarh predicts News18 Mega Exit Poll

NDA might continue leading in Chhattisgarh, as out of 11 seats, NDA is expected to win 9 to 11 seats while INDIA bloc might only get their hands on 0-2seats as per News18 Mega Exit Poll.

The election in Chhattisgarh, a state grappling with Naxal insurgency, was carried out in three stages.

Past elections

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured a significant victory, winning 10 out of the 11 seats in Chhattisgarh. In contrast, the Congress party gained ground in the 2019 elections, securing two seats, while the BJP retained its dominance with nine seats. Regional parties failed to win any seats in either election.

BJP vs Congress

The BJP nominated candidates for all 11 constituencies, including prominent figures such as Brijmohan Agarwal from Raipur and Mahesh Kashyap from Bastar.

Former chief minister and Congress candidate Bhupesh Baghel is contesting the polls from Rajnandgaon. Other notable candidates include Tamradhwaj Sahu from Mahasamund and Kawasi Lakhma from the Bastar (ST) seat.

While the Congress has historically had a strong presence in the state, the BJP has gradually gained ground and emerged as a formidable competitor.
