An Andhra Pradesh legislator thrashed a voter when he objected to the lawmaker jumping the queue at a polling booth in Guntur district in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 13.
A video went viral on social media platforms, showing the YSR Congress Party legislator A Sivakumar slapping the voter after being confronted. The voter slapped him back before the MLA's henchmen thrashed him. The voter was injured, according to reports.

Many people standing in the queue tried to intervene when the aides of the MLA thrashed the voter. No security personnel or election commission officials was seen in the video and it is also not clear how exactly the event unfolded.

Voting is underway in Andhra Pradesh for both the Assembly and Parliament. The fourth phase on May 13 has 10 states and Union Territories voting for 96 Lok Sabha seats. In Andhra Pradesh, the fate of 25 seats in the Lok Sabha and 175 seats in the Assembly will be sealed on this day.
