Delhi Election 2025 Voting Day: The countdown has begun for the prestige battle of Delhi. The voting for the 2025 Delhi Assembly Polls is set to take place tomorrow, February 5, 2025. Starting 7:00 am tomorrow, voters of Delhi will decide the fate of nearly 700 candidates on 70 Assembly constituencies. The voting will end at 6:00 pm. Voters have been encouraged to come to their polling booths early to avoid rush. The verdict of this three-cornered war will be declared by the Election Commission of India on February 8, 2025. While there is lot of excitement among the voters, some are confused about whether critical establishments such as banks and schools are closed tomorrow or not. So, if you are a Delhi voter and you want to know about what’s closed and what’s not in the National Capital on February 5 voting day, here’s all you need to know.

Delhi Election 2025 Voting Day: What’s closed in Delhi on February 5, 2025

As per the norms set by the Election Commission of India, all banks will remain shut tomorrow in Delhi. All government offices will also remain closed. Similarly, all educational institutions – schools and colleges – will remain closed tomorrow. Additionally, to maintain law and order in the National Capital on voting day, all liquor shops, licensed and non-licensed - across Delhi will remain shut on February 5, 2025. Cinema halls are also part of the list of what's closed in Delhi on voting day.

Delhi Election 2025 Voting Day: What’s open in Delhi on February 5, 2025

As per the voting day regulations established by the ECI, there is no ban on functioning of hospitals, pharmacies and other essential health services. Similarly, Delhi Metro services will run in usual working hours. Also, there is no curb on opening of eateries, cafes and restaurants. Additionally, the local kirana shops and grocery stores will remain open.

Delhi Election 2025 Voting Day: Will Delhi Metro run on February 5?

There is no ban on services of Delhi Metro. Latest reports say that to facilitate the movement of officers on poll duty, Delhi Metro will begin the services from 4:00 am onwards.

Delhi Election 2025 Voting Day: Is there any special traffic advisory?

 

In view of the voting, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed advisory for February 5. Govt Boys Senior Secondary School (GBSSS), Badli has been designated as Strong Room-cum-Counting Centre. Hence, a diversion will be in place on roads leading to the school. Similarly, there will be a diversion on Maya Muniram Road and Swami Narayan Marg. Additionally, there are traffic arrangements from Khanjhawala Chowk to Ghevra Road for voting day.
