The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the timetable for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) 1 examination for 2025. The exam will take place on April 13, 2025, and will be held in three shifts.

The selection process for UPSC CDS 1 2025 includes a written examination, followed by an interview conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB). The written exam consists of different subjects depending on the academy a candidate has applied for. The exam will be conducted in a pen-and-paper mode.
Candidates applying for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA) will have to appear for three papers: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. Those applying for the Officers' Training Academy (OTA) will only have to take English and General Knowledge papers.
Exam Duration and Vacancies
Each subject in the written exam will have a duration of two hours. The recruitment process aims to fill 457 vacancies across different academies. Candidates who clear the written exam will be shortlisted for the SSB interview, which includes psychological tests, group tasks, and a personal interview.
