UPPSC PCS-J Exam: The Allahabad High Court has imposed a ban on the publication of any information from an affidavit submitted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) related to the marks assigned to candidates in the Judicial Service Civil Judge (Junior Division) Mains Exam 2022. This decision stems from issues identified in the PCS-J 2022 exam, where some candidates were given incorrect marks due to the allocation of wrong codes to their answer sheets.

On July 9, the UPPSC chairman filed a compliance affidavit detailing the changes in marks for some candidates whose answer sheets were mistakenly assigned incorrect codes. This resulted in some candidates receiving incorrect marks.

The court directed the UPPSC to respond to a supplementary affidavit filed by the petitioner. The bench, comprising Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh and Justice Donadi Ramesh, also ordered that no certified or other copies of the facts disclosed in the compliance affidavit should be issued. The court emphasized that any party violating these orders would face consequences.

Previously, UPPSC admitted to the High Court that errors occurred during the allocation of dummy roll numbers to candidates in the PCS-J 2022 mains examination. These errors necessitated corrections to the results, which could lead to the exclusion of some selected candidates and the inclusion of others. The UPPSC had explained that the use of fake roll numbers was intended to ensure candidate anonymity, but mistakes in this process may have caused some answer sheets to be misattributed.
