The University of Chicago Center in Delhi has completed 10 years. Established in 2014 as a hub for teaching, research, and dialogue, the Center has played a pivotal role in fostering intellectual collaboration between UChicago and Indian institutions and serves as a platform for scholarly collaboration across India and South Asia across many diverse topics, from telecommunications systems to poetry.
The University of Chicago's ties with India trace back to the historic 1913 visit of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, marking the beginning of over a century of intellectual collaboration. The 10th-anniversary celebrations that began on February 16 will culminate in September with a gala celebration.
The Center in Delhi will focus on advancing these:
"The 10th anniversary of the UChicago Center in Delhi is a testament to the enduring partnership between the University of Chicago and India. Over the past decade, the Center has facilitated groundbreaking research, academic exchanges, and meaningful collaborations,” said Supratik Guha, faculty director, UChicago Center in Delhi and professor in the UChicago Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering.
