CBSE has opened applications for the Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship 2025 for Class 10 students. Eligible candidates can apply online before October 23 with required documents verified by their school.

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started accepting applications for the Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship for the academic year 2025. This scholarship is aimed at supporting meritorious single girl students who have passed their Class 10 CBSE examinations and are enrolling in Class 11 in CBSE affiliated schools. The scheme helps students continue their higher secondary education by providing financial assistance for tuition fees.

Eligible students can apply online through the official CBSE scholarship portal. The last date to submit applications is October 23, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Students must meet the following conditions to apply:

  • Single Girl Child: The applicant must be the only child of her parents.
  • Academic Performance: Must have secured at least 60% marks in the Class 10 CBSE exam.
  • Enrollment: Must be enrolled in Class 11 in a CBSE affiliated school.
  • Verification: The application must be verified by the student’s school.

Tuition Fee Limits:
  • Domestic students: Fees should not exceed Rs 1,500 per month for Class 10, with a maximum 10% annual increase for Classes 11 and 12.
  • NRI students: Fees should not exceed Rs 6,000 per month.

Required Documents

Applicants need to submit the following documents:

  • Official Class 10 marksheet.
  • Affidavit confirming the student is a single girl child, attested by a First Class Judicial Magistrate, SDM, Executive Magistrate, or Notary.
  • Undertaking from the school principal confirming enrolment and fee details.
  • Aadhaar card linked to the student’s bank account.
  • Bank details such as a passbook or cancelled cheque.
  • Fee receipt for the current academic year.
  • Recent passport-size photograph.

How to Apply

The application process is entirely online at cbseit.in. Steps include:

  1. Visit the CBSE scholarship portal and go to the Single Girl Child Scholarship section.
  2. Select the application type: ‘Fresh Application’ or ‘Renewal’.
  3. Complete the form with accurate personal, academic, and bank details.
  4. Upload all required documents in the specified format.
  5. Submit the application and print the confirmation page for future reference.

All applications must be verified by the student’s current school. Incomplete or unverified applications will be rejected. The scholarship is non-renewable, and students cannot apply for it again in future years.

This scheme ensures that deserving single girl students can continue their education in Classes 11 and 12 without financial difficulties by covering tuition fees.
