The controversy surrounding the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Preliminary Exam refuses to settle down. Fresh chaos erupted at the Bapu Examination Center in Patna, where candidates staged a protest, alleging that the question paper had been leaked. However, the BPSC has firmly denied these allegations, calling them baseless rumors.

The BPSC 70th Prelims Exam was conducted on Friday, December 13, 2024, across 912 centers statewide. During the examination, agitated candidates at the Bapu Center accused authorities of a question paper leak after 1 PM. The incident led to widespread commotion at the venue.

BPSC Refutes Allegations

The Bihar Public Service Commission dismissed the claims, labeling them as mischievous rumors. Officials stated that stringent measures were in place to ensure a fair examination. The prelims were held across 36 districts in Bihar, with robust monitoring systems to prevent malpractice.

Live Monitoring with CCTV Surveillance

To ensure transparency, the examination was monitored live using over 25,000 CCTV cameras. A Command Control Center at the BPSC headquarters oversaw the process, with district-specific desks staffed by technical teams monitoring individual centers. Any suspicious activity, such as students discussing answers, was immediately flagged, and center superintendents were alerted for quick action.

Command Control Measures

Officers at the Command Center closely supervised the examination process. In case of irregularities, incidents were recorded for further investigation. This year’s examination, offering 2,031 vacancies, saw comparatively lower candidate attendance. With 4.80 lakh applicants, this is the largest recruitment drive in BPSC’s history.
