A 47-year-old South Korean national, who had been working with a logistics company in Greater Noida for nearly a decade, was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend at their flat in Sector 150 in the early hours of Sunday. Police said the incident took place after a heated argument over his drinking habits. The woman has been detained for questioning.

The victim, identified as Duck Hee Yuh, a native of Cheongju-si in South Korea, was living in a rented flat at ATS Pious Hideways with his girlfriend, Lunjeana Pamai (22), who is from Bishnupur in Manipur. The couple had been in a live-in relationship for the past two years.

According to the police, the argument began late Saturday night and continued into the early hours of Sunday. Pamai told police that Hee had been drinking since Saturday morning, which upset her. Between 3 am and 4 am, she allegedly tried to stop him from consuming more alcohol and asked him to eat dinner and go to sleep. However, the situation worsened when Hee allegedly became aggressive, leading to a serious argument, The Times of India reported.

Fight escalated inside the flat

Police said the verbal argument soon turned violent. During the scuffle, Hee allegedly assaulted Pamai. In what she described as an act of retaliation, Pamai picked up a knife lying on the dining table and stabbed Hee multiple times in the chest. After sustaining serious injuries, Hee collapsed on the floor of the flat.

Following the incident, Pamai contacted Hee’s driver, Mandeep Singh, and asked him to come to the flat immediately. When Singh arrived early Sunday morning, Pamai informed him about the stabbing.

Singh called for an ambulance, and along with Pamai, rushed the injured man to the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida. However, doctors at the hospital declared Hee dead on arrival.

Police said that after learning about Hee’s death, Pamai quietly left the hospital without informing anyone. Later in the morning, hospital authorities informed the police about the death of a foreign national with stab injuries.

A police team reached the hospital and began an investigation. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Sudheer Kumar said a case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Knowledge Park police station, based on a complaint filed by the driver.

According to the driver, the couple fought frequently, often over "trivial matters". He mentioned that last month, Hee had suddenly become aggressive and verbally abused his girlfriend during another dispute.

Hee’s family in South Korea has been informed, and they are expected to arrive in Noida soon. Meanwhile, police said they are examining all aspects of the case and questioning Pamai to establish the exact sequence of events that led to the killing.
