This electric scooter initially entered the market in January 2020.

The electric two-wheeler segment in India is occupied by both legacy companies and start-ups. While start-ups initially led, the legacy companies have become the dominant players now. Amid all this tussle, there is one model that has done extremely well despite all the challenges associated with the early adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), and it is none other than the TVS iQube electric scooter.

Do you know the iQube has already crossed sales of 7 lakh units in the domestic market? For reference, it was launched in India in January 2020.

During the post-Q2 FY26 financial result analyst call, TVS Motor Company's Chief Financial Officer K Gopala Desikan said: "Our iQube has already crossed 7 lakh units in the domestic market and it is a prominent brand in India."

The iQube is available in multiple variants in India, with battery options ranging from 2.2kWh to 5.3kWh. Its effective on-road price in New Delhi starts at around Rs 1.03 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.73 lakh.

Depending on the variant, the iQube range (Indian Driving Cycle) is from 94km to 212km on a single full charge. The top speed varies from about 75kmph to 82kmph on the basis of the variant.

Across the range, the iQube features a lithium-ion battery with IP67 water and dust resistance in many variants. It uses a hub-mounted BLDC motor delivering up to 4.4kW peak power and a peak torque of around 140Nm. The scooter is equipped with a Combined Braking System using a front disc and rear drum setup, and provides dual ride modes such as Economy and Power. Connected features include smartphone pairing, turn-by-turn navigation, distance-to-empty readout, crash or theft alerts, and a USB charging port. It also offers more than 30 litres of usable under-seat storage and a seat height of roughly 770mm, which supports ease of use in city riding.

The key technical specifications for versions like the 3.5kWh model include a tubular frame, telescopic front suspension, and twin-tube hydraulics at the rear. It rides on 12-inch wheels with 90/90-12 tyres at both ends. Dimensionally, the scooter measures about 1,805mm in length, 645mm in width, and 1,140mm in height, with a wheelbase close to 1,301mm and ground clearance of about 157mm. Charging time from 0 to 80% for the 3.5kWh battery is approximately 4 hours 40 minutes. Higher-trim models also get IP67-rated battery protection.

Among the top rivals of the TVS iQube are the Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta, Ola S1 Pro, Honda Activa e: and Hero Vida V2.
