Nvidia is set to tie up with major Indian venture capital firms as it seeks deepen its AI push by funding promising startups, a company statement said on February 17.
The California-based company said it is partnering with VC firms such as Peak XV, Elevation Capital, Nexus Venture and Accel India to “identify and fund promising startups” that are building AI solutions for domestic and global use.
Over 4,000 AI startups in India are already part of Nvidia’s Inception program, the statement added.

The AI chip giant has also announced partnerships with data centre operators and AI cloud firms as it steps up its India strategy to boost the country’s AI ecosystem.
The US chipmaker said on Wednesday that it is working with data centre operator Yotta Data Services and AI cloud firm E2E Networks Ltd., supplying them with its latest Blackwell Ultra graphics processing units (GPUs). Shares of E2E Networks surged 20% on the announcement, extending their gains this year to over 50%.
Nvidia has increasingly assumed the role of a gatekeeper in the AI economy, with access to its advanced chips often determining which companies can effectively compete in the fast-evolving sector. Its expanded engagement in India aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push to position the country as a global AI hub.
Yotta is building a data centre facility equipped with more than 20,000 of Nvidia’s newest Blackwell chips, with planned investments exceeding $2 billion. Meanwhile, E2E Networks is rolling out AI services powered by Blackwell processors in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro Ltd.’s data centre arm.

Although India currently accounts for a small fraction of Nvidia’s overall revenue, the market offers significant long-term potential. The country’s large enterprises, public sector demand and deep technology talent pool are expected to drive sustained need for high-performance computing infrastructure.
Competition is intensifying. Advanced Micro Devices Inc. this week said it will introduce its Helios data centre blueprint in India and partner with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. to support up to 200 megawatts of AI infrastructure capacity in the country.
