State-owned Petronet LNG's fourth quarter (January-March) net profit fell higher-than-expected 23 percent quarter-on-quarter (unchanged year-on-year) to Rs 245 crore.
Revenue rose by 0.5 percent Q-o-Q (32.8 percent Y-o-Y) to Rs 8,465 crore in March quarter.
Analysts on an average had expected gas transporter to report net profit at Rs 288.7 crore on revenues of Rs 8,116 crore for the quarter.

Operating profit margin declined to 5 percent as against 6 percent Q-o-Q and 7 percent Y-o-Y.
At 15:18 hours IST, the stock was up just 0.33 percent to Rs 138.90 amid high volumes on Bombay Stock Exchange.
