US President Donald Trump told CNBC on Sunday that U.S. military operations against Iran are "ahead of schedule." In an interview with Fox News, he stated that 48 Iranian leaders have been killed in the ongoing US and Israeli strikes, calling the operation a major “success” and saying it was “moving along rapidly.”
Trump added that the combined offensive delivered a decisive blow to Iran’s leadership, asserting that “48 Iranian leaders are gone in one shot," and indicated that Washington is aware of the remaining targets. The strikes killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of senior commanders, while the Pentagon and Israeli Defence Forces continue to assess the impact.
Speaking to CNBC, Trump described Iran as “a very violent regime, one of the most violent regimes in history,” and said, “We’re doing our job not just for us but for the world. And everything is ahead of schedule.”
He added, “Things are evolving in a very positive way right now, a very positive way.” Trump has been monitoring the situation from his Mar-a-Lago property in West Palm Beach, Florida.
