US President Donald Trump once again claimed credit for preventing a “nuclear war” between India and Pakistan, this time while wearing a cap that read “Right About Everything.”
“We solved what could’ve been a nuclear war with India and Pakistan. It was getting ready to be a nuclear war,” Trump reiterated on Saturday, repeating his version of events.
However, India has consistently dismissed this claim, maintaining that it was Pakistan that sought a ceasefire following heavy losses during Operation Sindoor.

Turning to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Trump told reporters he would make a “very important decision” within the next two weeks, potentially involving “massive sanctions or tariffs” on Russia or informing Ukraine that “it’s not Washington’s war.”
“In two weeks, we are going to know which way I am going… whether it’s massive sanctions or massive tariffs or both, or do we do nothing and say it’s your fight,” he said, while emphasizing the need for a direct meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He added: “It takes two to tango. I wanted to have a meeting with those two. If they don’t meet, then why was it so, after I told them to have a meeting.”
This comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
Since May 10, when Trump announced on social media that the U.S. had facilitated a “full and immediate” ceasefire between the two countries after a “long night” of negotiations, he has reiterated over 40 times that he played a key role in de-escalating the situation.
However, India has consistently maintained that the ceasefire resulted from direct communication between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both nations.
