US President Donald Trump on Monday lauded Indian-American attorney Harmeet Kaur Dhillon, praising her aggressive stance against anti-Semitism. Speaking at a Hanukkah celebration, Trump said, “She sues the a** off of anybody who's anti-semitic.”
Dhillon, originally from Chandigarh, serves as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the US Department of Justice. Trump also referenced his decision to freeze funding for Harvard University over allegations of anti-Semitism, adding, “Harvard wished they never heard Harmeet's name.”

Trump’s remarks highlighted Dhillon’s reputation for taking a firm legal approach against acts of anti-Semitism, reinforcing her profile as a leading advocate for civil rights within the US legal system.
This comes as Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the US Department of Justice, has taken note of an IT firm allegedly “discriminating against Americans” by posting a job advertisement exclusively targeting H-1B visa holders.
