A US defence official confirmed to Fox News that the American military used four B-2 stealth bombers in recent strikes on Iran, targeting underground ballistic missile sites.

“Four B-2 bombers flew round-trip from the US and dropped dozens of 2,000-lb bombs on underground ballistic missile sites in Iran,” the official said. Analysts monitoring open-source flight tracking data had also observed the use of B-2 bombers in the operation.

The Pentagon clarified on Sunday that the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was not hit during recent Iranian missile attacks in the Gulf. “The vessel remains undamaged,” defence officials confirmed, countering earlier reports claiming the carrier was targeted.

In a separate update, the Pentagon reported that three US service members had been “killed in action” and five others “seriously wounded” during the operation against Iran, without providing further details. These are the first US casualties reported since the strikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday.

The deployment of B-2 bombers underscores the scale of the US response, which focused on underground Iranian ballistic missile facilities. These strikes come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, as US and Israeli operations target Iranian military infrastructure while Iran continues retaliatory attacks in the region.
