Netanyahu speaks to Trump after joint US-Israel strikes on Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone call with US President Donald Trump on Saturday, the Israeli leader's office said, after the two countries launched attacks on Iran, reported AFP.

"Netanyahu in conversation with US President Donald Trump," the premier's office said, releasing a photograph of him speaking on the phone.

The White House also released a statement saying that Trump is closely monitoring the situation. "Trump 'closely' monitoring Iran situation 'throughout the day," says White House.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said that US President Donald Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by phone on Saturday and will continue to closely monitor the Iranian situation with his national security team.
