The Tallahassee Democrat reported that a police spokesperson said there was one person in custody and that there were multiple injuries, according to New York Times (NYT).
Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is “actively receiving and caring for patients” from the shooting, a spokesperson said in a statement to CNN. “At this time, details are still unfolding, and we do not yet have specific information to share.”
Officers began evacuating academic buildings soon after the shelter-in-place alert went out. Campus officials told students to stay in place until officers reached them.
The F.B.I. in Jacksonville said in a statement on social media that it was assisting with the response, NYT reported.
