Ex-Pakistan Army chief Qamar Bajwa suffers head injuries after washroom fall, hospitalised

Former Pakistan Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa has been admitted to Rawalpindi Military Hospital after suffering head injuries in a fall, sources told CNN-News18.

According to hospital and family sources, the 65-year-old former general slipped and fell in his washroom on Tuesday morning. The fall resulted in three head injuries, following which he was rushed to the military hospital in Rawalpindi.

A family source said Bajwa underwent a major head operation soon after being admitted. He is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit and remains under close medical observation.

Hospital officials said the surgery was successful, but added that his recovery will depend on how he responds in the coming days. Doctors have indicated that it could take a couple of weeks for him to fully recover, given the seriousness of the injuries.

A hospital source confirmed that Bajwa’s condition is stable at present. Medical teams are monitoring him closely due to the nature of the head trauma.
