Afghanistan rubbishes Pakistan's claim of Indian missile attack on its territory

Ministry of External Affairs also rejected this claim, saying that the people of Afghanistan now know their friends and enemies well and are aware of which country has repeatedly violated Afghanistan's territory.

Afghanistan on Saturday rubbished Pakistan's claim that India launched a missile attack on its territory, saying there was "no truth to such claims".

Inayatullah Khawarizmi, spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of Defense, spoke to Hurriyat Radio and strongly rejected Pakistan's claim about India's missile attack on Afghan territory.

Earlier, Pakistan's ISPR DG Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry claimed that Afghan territory was also targeted in India's missile attacks on Pakistan.

Islamabad's allegation came after Indian forces, in retaliatory action, hit several air bases and military installations in Pakistan on the intervening night of May 9 and 10. The Indian action came after three consecutive nights of intrusions attempts by Pakistan's Turkish drones across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan.

The Ministry of External Affairs, in a press briefing this morning, also rejected Pakistan's claim, saying people of Afghanistan now know their friends and enemies well and are aware of which country has repeatedly violated Afghanistan's territory.

"There is this yet again completely ludicrous claim that Indian missiles have hit Afghanistan. Totally frivolous allegation. And I only want to point out that Afghan people don't need to be reminded about which country it is, that has on multiple occasions, in just the last one and a half years, targeted civilian populations and civilian infrastructure in Afghanistan," Misri said.

Since the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in 2021, India has not formally recognised the new regime. However, New Delhi has maintained a limited diplomatic presence in Kabul and continued to provide humanitarian assistance. In recent months, engagement between Indian officials and Taliban representatives has become more frequent, signaling a pragmatic approach driven by regional security and strategic considerations.
