Adventure seekers and travel enthusiasts, the skies are about to open up for a whole new way to explore Uttarakhand! Heritage Aviation is gearing up to launch daily helicopter services connecting Dehradun to Nainital and Bageshwar. This exciting addition to the RCS-UDAN network will revolutionize travel in the region, making it more affordable and accessible to all.
A pioneer in chartered helicopter operations since 2009, Heritage Aviation began its operations under the UDAN scheme in January 2024. The company’s focus on improving regional connectivity, particularly in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region, is a step toward opening up remote, scenic destinations to a broader audience. The daily chopper services are set to make these popular destinations more reachable than ever before.
To support this expansion, Heritage Aviation is boosting its fleet with state-of-the-art Airbus helicopters. The first of these cutting-edge aircraft has already arrived, and the second will join the fleet in the coming months, allowing for increased capacity to meet rising demand for regional air connectivity.
Heritage Aviation is also committed to keeping travel affordable, offering competitive pricing on several routes. For example, on the Haldwani-Munsiyari and Haldwani-Pithoragarh routes, where the government-permitted fare is Rs 5,000, the company is charging only Rs 4,000. Similarly, on the Haldwani-Champawat route, the permitted rate of Rs 3,500 is being offered at just IRs 2,500.
This expansion will not only enhance tourism in the region but also provide businesses and locals with easier access to remote areas. Heritage Aviation’s efforts to improve infrastructure and regional connectivity are set to offer travelers a seamless and unforgettable journey through northern India’s most culturally rich and scenic destinations.
