




The FIR alleged that the RJD leader abused his official position for extending undue favours to the Kochhars and acquired a piece of "high value premium land" through the benami firm, Delight Marketing Company.
The case has been registered against the then railway minister, his wife Rabri Devi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and his son Tejashwi, the then IRCTC MD, P K Goyal, the wife of Yadav's confidante Prem Chand Gupta, Sujata, and others, CBI sources said. Gupta is a former Union corporate affairs minister.
He said that penalty should be imposed on Lalu Prasad and others for using the plots for commercial purposes.
'Chinnamma' Sasikala is not the first to have her political hopes dashed by the courts, and she won‘t be the last. Others who have had to step down because of court convictions include former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad, Gujarat minister Maya Kodnani and political nomad Navjot Singh Sidhu.
With both RJD and Congress eyeing several seats won by JDU in the 2010 elections, Nitish Kumar is facing a tough time in convincing his party leaders. Even the candidature of some ministers is uncertain.
Prasad said as per seat sharing arrangement, Congress would contest on 12 seats, Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party on one and RJD would contest on rest 27 out of 40 parliamentary seats.
