In 2020, the JD(U) had contested 115 seats and the BJP 110, while Paswan’s party went solo. The ongoing seat-sharing impasse has delayed the NDA’s full-fledged campaign rollout. Bihar goes to the polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14.

According to sources, the Congress had initially asked for 70 seats, the same number as they had fought in the 2020 Assembly elections.
