Ghulam Nabi Azad (born 7 March 1949) is an Indian politician and former member of the Indian National Congress, best known for his long tenure in national and Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) politics.
The Democratic Progressive Azad Party, founded in 2022, suffered major setbacks after poor poll results in 2024. By mid-2025, key leaders had rejoined Congress.
He was hospitalized in May 2025 during a Gulf delegation visit, after which the Prime Minister checked on him. He has since resumed public engagements and is active in political discourse.
