Xiaomi has started teasing the launch of the Redmi Pad 2, the successor to the Redmi Pad, which was launched in 2022. The company has announced this via a teaser on the social media platform X and has confirmed that the Redmi Pad 2 will come with a larger screen than its predecessor and will still be very portable. The teaser suggests a significant announcement on June 5, with the tagline "Built for More."
Redmi Pad 2: Launch details
The Redmi Pad 2 is expected to debut sometime later this month in India. It will be available via Amazon, Flipkart, and Xiaomi’s official website. The silhouette on the teaser suggests a large display with slim black borders. It is also touted to offer a great battery life. The tablet may arrive with 4G/5G network connectivity.
Xiaomi’s global handle on X has also teased the launch of the Redmi Pad 2. The teaser image shows the complete design and colour options of the tablet. It also confirms that the tablet will support 4G LTE connectivity. Additionally, another teaser for the standard Wi-Fi version confirms a Violet colour option alongside Mint Green and Grey shades.
Redmi Pad 2: Expected specifications, price
According to listings in Europe, the Redmi Pad 2 will come with an 11-inch 2.5K display with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits peak brightness. It is tipped to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra SoC. Further, it is likely to include a 5MP front camera, quad speakers, and offer a large 9,000 mAh battery supporting 18W charging.
Moreover, the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of Redmi Pad 2 is listed to be priced at EUR 229 (around Rs 22,000), whereas the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant will cost EUR 279 (around Rs 26,000). Meanwhile, the Redmi Pad 2 with 4G connectivity, with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, is listed at EUR 299 (around Rs 29,000).
