Vivo Y400 5G launched in India at a starting price of Rs 21,999

Vivo has launched its all-new budget smartphone -- Y400 5G -- at a starting price of Rs 21,999. The phone features a 6000mAh battery and an AMOLED display.

Vivo has introduced the Y400 5G smartphone in India as part of its Y-series portfolio. Positioned in the mid-range segment, the device comes shortly after the release of the Y400 Pro and ahead of the Vivo V60 series, which is expected to debut later in August. The Y400 5G combines a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, large battery, and IP-rated durability.

The Vivo Y400 5G is available in two configurations: ₹21,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, and ₹23,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB model. The device is being offered in two colour options—Glam White and Olive Green.

The smartphone will be available for purchase starting August 7. It can be bought via Vivo’s official website, e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon, as well as authorised retail stores across India.

The Y400 5G features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports up to 1800 nits of local peak brightness, enhancing outdoor visibility. The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, offering protection against both submersion and high-pressure water streams.

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. It is equipped with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage. The phone runs on Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15.

In terms of cameras, the Y400 5G includes a Sony IMX852 primary rear sensor accompanied by a 2MP bokeh lens. On the front, a 32MP selfie camera is housed for video calls and self-portraits.

A key feature of the device is its 6,000mAh battery, which supports 90W fast wired charging. Vivo claims the phone can reach 50 percent charge in just 20 minutes.

Vivo is also touting a “50-month smooth experience” through system-level optimizations, although the brand has not disclosed its long-term software update policy.
