Think Deeper, Copilot Voice, and more: Microsoft unveils new features for Copilot

Microsoft has announced a slew of new features coming to its generative AI companion, Copilot. “Our refreshed Copilot is focused on delivering a more intuitive design with more digestible, speedy and fluent answers,” said the company in a blog post. Think Deeper

According to Microsoft, Copilot can now reason through more complex questions. Think Deeper takes more time before responding, allowing Copilot to deliver detailed and step-by-step answers to challenging questions. “We’ve designed it to be helpful for all kinds of practical and everyday challenges, like comparing two complex options side by side,” explained Microsoft. However, the company said that it is an “early Copilot Skill that’s still undergoing development”. Think Deeper is available from today through Copilot Labs to a limited number of Copilot Pro users in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Copilot Voice

Microsoft is adding voice support to Copilot, which means that the AI chatbot can narrate answers to users. “This is the most intuitive and natural way to brainstorm on the go, ask a quick question or even just vent at the end of a tough day,” said Microsoft. Users will have four voice options to choose from. Copilot Voice is currently available in English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Copilot Voice will expand to more regions and languages soon, said Microsoft.

Copilot Daily

This is a new feature that will give users a summary of news and weather, which will be read in Copilot Voice. Microsoft said that Copilot Daily will only pull from authorised content sources. “We are working with partners such as Reuters, Axel Springer, Hearst Magazine and Financial Times, and plan to add more sources over time. We’ll also add additional personalisation and controls in Copilot Daily over time,” said Microsoft.

Easier Copilot access in Edge

Microsoft has integrated Copilot in the Edge browser. Now, it is making is easier to access the AI companion. Users can now access Copilot directly from the Microsoft Edge browser by simply typing @copilot into the address bar.
