Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic, alongside its new foldables at the Unpacked event in New York. The new Galaxy Watch8 series introduces a thinner, redesigned profile with comfort-focused ergonomics and more personalized health insights powered by AI and advanced sensors.

The Galaxy Watch8 lineup brings a uniform cushion design, first seen on the Watch Ultra, for improved comfort and fit. The internal structure has been reengineered for a slimmer profile—up to 11% thinner—and better health tracking accuracy. The series includes a new Dynamic Lug system and a display that reaches 3,000 nits peak brightness. Samsung is also introducing a 3nm Exynos W1000 processor with improved power efficiency.
Health upgrades include advanced sleep tracking with Bedtime Guidance and Vascular Load monitoring. There’s also a new Antioxidant Index, allowing users to measure carotenoid levels in five seconds. The Galaxy Watch8 also integrates High Stress Alert, Mindfulness Tracker, and Energy Score—which combines physical and mental energy levels for daily wellness insights.
Fitness features have been enhanced too, with Running Coach offering a personalized plsan and real-time guidance. The Together feature now supports running, enabling group challenges.
The Galaxy Watch8 series is the first to ship with Google’s Gemini AI assistant integrated into Wear OS 6. Users can interact hands-free for tasks like navigation, messaging, or workouts. Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch brings a refined interface with Multi-Info Tiles, Now Bar, and simplified notifications.
The Galaxy Watch8 comes in 44mm and 40mm sizes in Graphite and Silver. The Classic variant, with a rotating bezel, comes in 46mm size in Black and White. Both models feature Super AMOLED displays with sapphire crystal protection and are compatible with Android 12 or later devices.
The Galaxy Watch8 series is available for pre-order starting July 9 in select markets, with open sales beginning July 25.
