BOE is also understood to ask for an increase in the manufacturing of TV LCD panels for Samsung Electronics, particularly for its Smart TV models. The Chinese company used to supply around 10 million LCD panels yearly to Samsung, which eventually dropped to 1 million panels annually owing to their dispute. The report also claims that this reconciliation could be regarding the ongoing global RAM shortage, which is forcing most electronics makers to increase product prices. Samsung may also be diversifying its suppliers to reduce the costs of display panels to mitigate the rising cost of memory and storage.
