Reliance unveils JioTag Air, an affordable Apple AirTag alternative: Price, specifications

After launching its first tracking device last year, Reliance Jio has launched its new smart tracker, the JioTag Air. It comes with big improvements over its predecessor and is even compatible with Apple’s Find My Network. The JioTag Air aims to be a more cost-effective solution for tracking valuables such as keys, ID cards, and wallets, than the Apple AirTag.

JioTag Air: Specifications, features

The JioTag Air has a sleek and compact design and can be placed anywhere, even inside your pocket. Users can attach it to various items prone to misplacement, and with the help of the equipped Bluetooth 5.3 technology, the JioTag Air offers robust wireless tracking. It also includes a built-in speaker capable of emitting a loud sound between 90-120 decibels, to help in location tracking.

The JioTag Air is compatible with Android and iOS. For iPhone users, JioTag Air with the help of Apple’s Find My helps in tracking, whereas Android users can easily pair the device with the JioThings app to monitor or locate their tagged items. It is compatible with iPhone models running iOS 14 or later, and Android smartphones running on Android 9 or later.

The JioTag Air comes with a lanyard, which helps users attach this to a keychain, along with an extra battery. According to the company, a single battery on JioTag Air can last for more than a year. It also has the Lost Mode feature that sends automatic notifications to the paired Apple device when it is detected in the Apple Find My Network.

The JioTag Air has been priced at Rs 2,999 but is currently available for a discounted price of Rs 1,499. It comes in three colors: Blue, Red, and Grey, and can be purchased through JioMart, Reliance Digital, and Amazon.
