PlayStation 5 users discover a surprising new welcome screen hack that everyone must try

Sony recently introduced a Welcome hub on the home screen for PlayStation 5 users that collects a bunch of widgets that allow for a glance at the system’s important features. These widgets that are usually locked on the left side of the welcome screen can also be moved to the bottom.

A few weeks ago, Sony released a significant system update for PlayStation 5 (PS5) consoles, which introduced several new features and improvements. The update, version 24.06-10.00.00, also added a new customizable Welcome hub on the PS5 home screen, replacing the previous Explore tab, and allows users to add widgets displaying information like storage space, controller battery levels, online friends, and more.

How to get three minimum widgets on the bottom of the PS5 Welcome screen

A Reddit user (iiEco-Ryan3166) has now shared a handy trick that PlayStation 5 fans can implement with the new Welcome hub menu. Previously, Sony only allowed a minimum of three widgets, all locked to the left-hand side of the screen at the welcome screen of the PS5. However, this new trick shared by the Reddit user now allows PlayStation users to shift all the widgets at the bottom.

Users can now get a total of nine minimized widgets, including the three that they want and six random ones at the bottom of the PS5 screen. Then, the PS5 users can move the requisite widgets with the square button, especially the default three that they want on the bottom of each of the three rows.

Further, PS5 users can also just disable the ones that they don't want. For example, less used widgets like News, New to PlayStation Plus, Friend Activity, Battery Level, Online Friends, and others to the bottom of the screen as well. Once this is complete, all three widgets the users have chosen, will be visible on the bottom.
