OPPO has officially confirmed that its new tablet, OPPO Pad 5, will be launching in India soon. The confirmation didn’t come through a big stage announcement or a press conference, but via a Flipkart microsite that was created for the upcoming Reno 15 smartphone series. The interesting bit? If you scroll all the way down on that page, you’ll now spot the OPPO Pad 5 listed at the bottom, quietly sitting under the phones. That’s OPPO’s way of saying the tablet is part of the India launch lineup too.
While OPPO hasn’t revealed the exact launch date yet, the teasers have already confirmed a couple of major features. The Indian model will come with a 2.8K resolution display and a 10,050mAh battery. Now, for anyone who has been tracking this device, the Pad 5 was already launched in China in October 2025, so the tablet itself isn’t brand new. What’s new is its India debut. And from what the teasers suggest, most of the important stuff from the Chinese version will stay the same.
The display on the OPPO Pad 5 is going to be 12.1 inches, and it’s an LCD panel. It supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, which means the screen can adjust itself depending on what you’re doing. It can even go up to 144Hz, but that depends on the app or the content. The tablet will also support a stylus, which will most likely be sold separately, just like it is in China. The stylus isn’t bundled in the box, so if you plan to sketch or take handwritten notes, you might need to buy it along with the tablet.
Under the hood, the Pad 5 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset. This is the same chip that’s used in the China model, and it makes the tablet one of the most powerful Android tablets in the mid-premium segment. You can get it with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, which means multitasking should feel smooth and apps should load fast. The big battery supports 67W fast charging, so you won’t have to wait too long to juice it up.
The China version runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and has an 8MP camera on the front and the back. If OPPO brings the same hardware to India, this tablet will stand tall against a lot of competition in the same price band. Flipkart’s listing shows the tablet in Black and Pink color options, but OPPO hasn’t confirmed the official marketing names of these shades yet.
Now let’s talk price, because that’s the part that can make or break a tablet launch in India. In China, the Pad 5 starts at CNY 2,599, which roughly converts to around Rs 32,000 for the base variant, and goes up to about Rs 44,000 for the top configuration. If OPPO manages to price it around the same range in India, it will compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 FE and even the Apple iPad.
With its large screen, strong battery, stylus support, and a near-flagship chipset, the OPPO Pad 5 is shaping up to be more than just another tablet option. A lot of buyers who are thinking of upgrading right now might actually want to wait a little longer to see how OPPO prices it and how it performs in real-world use.
For now, we know this much: phones and a tablet are coming, OPPO has confirmed it, and 2026 might just start with a very interesting Android tablet entry in India.
