UK-based smartphone brand Nothing introduced an Essential Space button with its Phone 3a lineup and Phone 3 this year. It is an AI-powered productivity hub, built directly into the company’s Nothing OS, and acts like an extended memory for the device, letting users capture voice notes, screenshots, and other content. Over the last few months, Nothing has rolled out several new updates to add important features to this tool, and has now rolled out another update, which makes it easier to share content with the service.
Nothing’s Essential Space now available on Android Share Sheet: Key details
According to Nothing’s announcement on X (formerly Twitter), Phone 3a series users can quickly save and organise content from across their devices by using the Essential Space button or toggle. This means that articles, social media posts, music, and other types of on-screen content can now be added directly to Essential Space using the standard Share option, which will open all the Android Share Sheet options.
This will streamline the process of sharing content with the Essential Space hub, making it easier to access all shared files in one place. The update is currently being rolled out automatically for Phone 3a users with auto-updates enabled, while others can install it manually via the Google Play Store. It is already available on the company’s latest flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3.
Recently, Nothing also introduced a call recording feature in the Essential Space, which allows Phone 3a series and Phone 3 users to start recording calls by long-pressing the Essential Key or by selecting Start recording in the notification bar. These recordings can be directly accessed through the Essential Space hub.
