Nothing is gearing up to release its Phone 4a series on March 5, which is likely to include the Nothing Phone 4a and Nothing Phone 4a Pro. The UK-based brand had previously revealed that a Snapdragon chipset would power the lineup. Now, the company has given us a glimpse of the new ‘Glyph Bar,’ which makes its debut with the upcoming devices. This also marks a change from Nothing’s traditional Glyph Matrix rear lighting system.

Nothing Phone 4a series: What’s new

According to details shared in a teaser on its community blog and an X post, Nothing has confirmed that the new ‘Glyph Bar’ will consist of six square lights with nine individually controlled mini LED lights. This setup is designed to reduce distractions while still delivering clear visual notification alerts. The company describes the ‘Glyph Bar’ to be more brighter and noticeable than the previous Glyph Matrix implementation.

Further, the company has mentioned that the new lighting system uses patented technology to create more natural, neutral and bleed-free light output, which will be around 40% brighter compared to the previous A-series smartphones. The Nothing Phone 4a series will also be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets, with leaks suggesting the Phone 4a to use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while the Phone 4a Pro may come with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC.

Moreover, both these phones could feature a 6.7-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Phone 4a will reportedly pack a 5,400mAh battery with support for 50W wired charging, while the Phone 4a with a similar battery pack could also offer wireless charging. The company has also confirmed that the Phone 4a series will be offered in multiple colour options. In terms of optics, they are expected to feature a triple-camera setup, similar to the Phone 3a series, including a dedicated telephoto lens.
