Nothing Phone 3a

Nothing is all set to make the Nothing Phone 3a series official in India on March 4. This time, the London-based company has made some interesting tweaks. For starters, the “Plus” model is now called “Pro.” While official details are still limited, leaks and teasers have given us a good idea of what’s coming. The gigantic camera module on the 3a Pro is a first by the company, it also hints towards the phone being a camera focused one. Apart from the cosmetic changes, software updates are expected to.

Here are five reasons why we think the Nothing Phone 3a series is worth the hype.

1. The signature transparent design gets a new look

Nothing’s signature transparent design is here to stay, but with some noticeable updates. The Nothing Phone 3a Pro features a bigger, circular camera module with three lenses, including a periscope zoom lens—something new for a Nothing phone.

The regular Nothing Phone 3a keeps things simpler with a pill-shaped triple-camera setup. Other than that, both phones stick to the same clean and minimalistic look that Nothing is known for.

2. A new mystery button

One of the biggest teasers from Nothing is a new fourth button on the right side. While we don’t know exactly what it does yet, leaks suggest it could work like the iPhone’s Action Button, letting users set shortcuts for different functions. Nothing calls it "the second memory," but we’ll have to wait and see what that actually means.

3. A powerful Snapdragon chip

Nothing is ditching MediaTek and switching to a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor this time. While the exact chip hasn’t been confirmed, rumors suggest it could be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Whether both models will use the same processor is still unclear, but this change should bring better performance and efficiency.

4. A smoother display and bigger battery

Both phones will have a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming. The screens will also be protected by Panda Glass and offer up to 3,000 nits of brightness, making them easier to use in bright sunlight.

Battery life shouldn’t be an issue either, as both models are packed with a 5,000mAh battery. Fast charging details aren’t confirmed yet, but Nothing has always offered decent charging speeds, so expect something good.

5. Camera upgrades with better zoom

The cameras are getting a serious upgrade. The Nothing Phone 3a is rumored to have three cameras: a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. It also has a 32MP front camera for selfies. The Nothing Phone 3a Pro takes it a step further. While it has the same 50MP main sensor.
